Rodeo stars hope to shine in third-annual Clearwater rough stock challenge

Hold on • A cowboy graps the reins during the 2022 Rough Stock Challenge, sponsored by the Clearwater Chamber of Commerce. The event returns to the arena, Saturday, with a calcutta at 7 and events at 7:30 p.m.

The best rough stock riders return to Clearwater, Saturday, July 22, as the local chamber of commerce hosts the third-annual Clearwater Rough Stock Challenge.

Competition is slated to begin at 7:30 p.m., in the Gene Snodgrass Arena, located along West Highway 275.

A calcutta will be held at 7 p.m., prior to the first event. Elgin Livestock auctioneer, Ted Baum, will handle auction duties.

Stock for the challenge will be provided by Justin Boots, with Rocking Plus Rodeo Company.

Local businesses have provided added purse money, totaling $1500 per event.

Individuals wanting to battle a bull will be able to sign up for the ring of fear, following the final bull ride of the night.

Admission for the show will be $10 at the gate. Children age 2 and below will be admitted for free. Cash only will be accepted at the entrance.

The admission ticket includes a dance at the rodeo grounds following the competition.

The Bald and the Beautiful - Josh Mlnarik and his daughter, Charley - will perform.

A full concession stand will be available.
