Troopers and dispatchers worked overtime from June 30 through July 5, as part of a nationwide effort to keep roads safe for 4th of July travel. NSP’s campaign was made possible by a grant from the Nebraska Department of Transportation – Highway Safety Office.

In addition to the 36 arrests for driving under the influence, troopers also issued citations for speeding, 612; speeding over 100 miles per hour, 19; open alcohol container, 30; minor in possession of alcohol, 25; driving under suspension, 30; no seat belt, 18; and improper child restraint, 13. Troopers also performed 278 motorist assists across the state.
