Community celebration packed with fun, events kickoff Friday

Saturday drive • Gary Ober, of Royal, leads the 2022 tractor parade on its journey through Antelope and Knox counties. This year's event will leave Royal Bar & Grill, at noon, Saturday, July 8.

Royal's population will expand this weekend, as a multitude of events draw a crowd during the village's annual celebration.

Royal Bar & Grill will host a euchre tournament, Friday, July 7, at 7:30 p.m. Entry fee is $5 per player and prizes, based on entry numbers, will be awarded.

Saturday events begin with the yearly tractor ride. Registration runs from 10:30 a.m. to noon at Royal Bar & Grill. Tractors will depart at noon.

Royal Community Day includes events for the whole family.

Royal Roping Club will hold two team-roping events at the arena.

A youth round robin will begin at noon, with adult ropers competing at 1:30.

A pulled-pork barbecue will be served at the park, from to 5 to 8 p.m.. A freewill donation will be accepted.

A silent auction will be held at the park. Root beer floats will be served and Amish baked goods will be available.

The evening will conclude with live music, provided by Jim Larson, at Royal Bar & Grill. Entertainment begins at 8 p.m.
