Discover Nebraska history through song at Neligh Mill program

Dan Holtz will perform songs from "All Original, All Nebraska," June 29, at 6:30 p.m., at the Neligh Mill.

Kick off Neligh's 150th celebration at the Neligh Mill. On June 29, at 6:30 p.m., Dan Holtz will provide a musical performance outlining Nebraska's history.

While accompanying himself on guitar and harmonica, Holtz shares original songs explaining the important people, places and events in the state's history.

His songs tell stories about out-of-the-ordinary homesteaders, heroic Native Americans, World War II heroes, Nebraska's natural and scenic wonders and more.

Holtz is an emeritus professor of English at Peru State College. His musical and storytelling programs have been presented across the state, including sessions at the capitol, governor's mansion, Bob Devaney Sports Center and Ft. Robinson.

In 2016, along with the band Flatwater Highway, he released a CD, titled "All Original, All Nebraska."
