Cheatum advances to Saturday's championship in two events

Hadley Cheatum sails over the hurdles during a preliminary heat, Friday, at Omaha Burke. She advances to Saturday's final in Class C at the NSAA State Track and Field Championships.

Hadley Cheatum will represent the Summerland girls' track and field team in two finals, Saturday, in the Nebraska School Activities Association Class C State Track and Field Championships, in Omaha.

Cheatum had the fourth fastest time in the 100m hurdles prelim, running 15.55. The final is scheduled for 2:25 p.m.

She'll also run in the 300m finals, Saturday, at 5:40 p.m. Cheatum finished second in Friday's preliminary, running 46.18.

Cheatum also ran in the 400m prelim on Friday, completing the oval in 1:00.13. Qualifying times for the finals ranged from 58.51 to 59.97. She finished 10th.

Trevor Thomson saw his senior season end after missing the cut for Saturday in two events. Thomson finished 18th in the 100m, running 11.29. In the 200m, Thomson crossed the line in 23.30, placing 11th.

Sophomore Bailey Ahlers will compete in the Class C high jump final, Saturday, at 11:30 a.m.
