Boys' track team finishes eighth in district competition

Trevor Thomson was the lone state qualifier for the Summerland boys' track squad, qualifying in two events.
Thomson finished fourth in the 100m finals, running 11.19. He set a season record in the 200m finals, earning silver setting a 22.99 pace.
Ruger Switzer and Ryan Rifer finished fourth and fifth, respectively, in high jump. Both cleared 5' 11.
Alec Schindler placed fifth in the 300m hurdles. Schindler set a personal record, running 43.73. He finished seventh in the 100m hurdles, running 16.44. Schindler finished eighth in triple jump, with a leap of 39' 1.
Gavin Whiting threw 123' 11 in the discus, finishing sixth. Whiting ended eighth in shot put, throwing 41' 4.75.
A meet cannot be measured only by participants making it to the medal stand. A number of Bobcats set PRs during the meet.
