Diane Landers, outreach clinic coordinator, is the 2023 Caring Kind Award winner for Antelope Memorial Hospital. She was recognized Tuesday, May 9, during National Hospital Week.

Each year, the Nebraska Hospital Association honors employees from hospitals across the state as "Caring Kind" employees. The honored employee must exemplify the spirit of someone who gives that "something special" to others.

Landers was nominated and selected by her fellow AMH employees to win this prestigious award. Her nomination reflected the many positive qualities she brings to work each day. She has been employed at AMH for more than two years, beginning in patient services. A year ago, she began serving as AMH's outreach clinic coordinator in the surgery department.

Landers' nomination describes her as having a friendly and inviting personality.

Those nominating her wrote, "She is one of the most genuine and kind people at AMH. Her scheduling in the surgery/OP department is top-notch. She goes out of her way to ensure patients are scheduled with the appropriate specialist in a timely manner. No matter where she's going, she takes the time to greet you and spend a brief moment - before moving on to her next task. She works well with others and stays on top of things to provide the best possible care for our patients. She is the epitome of caring and kind and is well deserving of this award."

"I was very surprised and humbled to be chosen for this special award," said Landers. "It truly touches my heart – as there are many employees at AMH who are deserving. I really enjoy my job and doing my part to help our patients receive the care they need. I consider it a privilege to work with so many wonderful people."

Landers currently resides in her hometown of Elgin. She has two sons, Colton and Chase Dozler. Colton, and his wife, Katie, have a son, Thomas, 6, and a daughter, Andie, 2. Colton is a commercial cattle feed specialist. They reside near Belleville, Kansas.

Chase and his wife, Casity, have two daughters, Payton, 5, and Sutton, seven months. Chase is a linesman. They reside near Abilene, Kansas.

Landers' hobbies include visiting her family in Kansas and walking.

On Friday, Oct. 20, the Nebraska Hospital Association will host an award presentation at the Embassy Suites Conference Center in LaVista honoring Landers and other "Caring Kind Award" recipients in Nebraska.
