Chip shot • Bobcat golfer Dane Miller taps the ball on the green, Tuesday, during the Niobrara Valley Conference golf tournament, held at the Antelope County Club, in Neligh.

"It was a tough day for the Bobcats."

That's how coach Bill Tabbert described competition at the Niobrara Valley Conference golf meet, held April 25, at the Antelope Country Club, in Neligh.

The Bobcats shot 397, one stroke out of finishing in a tie for fourth place.

Neligh-Oakdale carded a 357 to win the team title. Elgin Public/Pope John shot 361 to finish second.

West Holt ended third with 371 and Niobrara/Verdigre came in fourth with 396.

"Dane Miller was in a five-way tie at 14th, but lost out on a medal," Tabbert said.

Miller finished with 96. Matthew Potter shot 99; Kelton Bruhn, 100; Dylan Rotherham, 102; and Logan Kester, 111.

Summerland JV was led by Christian Behnk, who carded a 109. Bennet Flenniken shot 112 and Barrett Stearns, 117, according to Tabbert.

"We hope to bounce back tomorrow at Osmond," Tabbert said.
