Lady Cats finished third at O'Neill Invite

Hadley Cheatum led the Bobcat girls' track team at the April 13 O'Neill Invite, winning four gold medals.

Coach Shannon Schumacher said he was proud of how the team performed.

"They put up a lot of strong performances and personal bests. We ended up third out of 17 teams," the coach said.

Three Bobcat jumpers earned medals in high jump.

Bailey Ahlers finished second, at 5'; Caydence Schumacher, fourth, 4' 10 and Lydia Robertson, fifth, 4' 10, out of a total of 26 jumpers.

"We had many others who had strong performances and are making good progress, they should all be proud," Schumacher said.

Cheatum cross the 400m finish line in 1:01.51 en route to the gold. Aubrey Parker finished the race in 1:11.55, placing 23rd.

Cheatum picked up a second gold medal in the 800m, running 2:32.13. Karley Dawkins completed the race in 3:01.18, placing 23rd. Shaylie Kester placed 33rd, with a time of 3:25.16.

Sitting second after 100m hurdle prelims, Cheatum knocked time off her qualifying score to pick up a third gold medal. She ran 16.76. Preslie Robertson ended in 11th place, running 18.64.

Cheatum's fourth gold medal came in the 300m hurdles. She ran 48.44. Lydia Robertson placed 17th, with a mark of 57.62.

In the 100m prelims, Schumacher finished 23rd, running 14.81 and Jaycee Reynolds ended 24th, finishing in 14.82. Yazlin Zermeno ran 15.44, placing 35th. Preslie Robertson crossed the tape in 15.64, landing 39th. Ava Rittscher, ended 50th, running 17.01 and Kenna Brabec placed 55th, running 18.62.

In the 200m preliminaries, Ella Bolling led Bobcat runners, finishing 23rd with a time of 31.67. Parker kept pace with her, ending in 24th place, with a 31.68 mark. Zermeno ran 32.63, placing 31st.

Dawkins finished 19th in the 1600m. She crossed the finish line in 7:32.18.

The 4x100 relay team - Reynolds, Lydia Robertson, Bolling and Schumacher - finished 11th. They ran 57.39.

In the 4x800, the Bobcats finished the race in 12:48.60. Team members include Parker, Dawkins, Ellie Dougherty and Kester.

Ashley Pischel finished 17th in high jump after clearing 4' 6. She did not clear the bar in pole vault.

Lydia Robertson finished sixth in triple jump. She reached 30' 11.25. Schumacher jumped 30' 4.5, finishing 10th. Reynolds placed 18th, landing at 28' 10.75 and Talya Nilson jumped 25' 9.25, placing 28th.

Bolling jumped 12' 3.5 to finish 23rd in long jump. Dougherty ended 36th, reaching 10' 6.5, while Brabec ended 41st, jumping 8' 7.

Adyson Mlnarik finished 19th in shot put, throwing 30' .5, while Kenzie Sanne threw 26' 2.75 to place 34th. Molly Moore threw 18' 1, landing in 57th place.

In the discus ring, Mlnarik tossed the disc 55' 5, placing 46th. Sanne finished 47th, throwing 52' 5.
