Arrest warrants were issued for three defendants who failed to appear in the Holt County court in O’Neill on April 4.

The Honorable Burdick issued a bench warrant for the arrest of Jasmine A. Heck, 35, of Bonesteel, South Dakota, who failed to appear for arraignment on seven counts.

The complaint filed by Holt County Attorney Brent Kelly, on March 16 alleges, Count I, no proof of financial responsibility, a Class 2 misdemeanor; four Class 3 misdemeanors - Count II, no valid registration; Count III, no proof of ownership; Count IV, no operator’s license on person; and Count V, display of fictitious plates; along with two infractions, Count VI, fail to use child passenger restraint and Count VII, speeding, 35 mph in 25 mph zone. She was cited Feb. 11 by an O’Neill officer. Bond is set at $5,000, 10% cash.

Burdick also issued a warrant for Matthew J. Beveridge, 53, of Lincoln, who failed to appear on five counts. Beveridge is charged with DUI (.15+), a Class 2A felony and four infractions, drive left of center, drive on shoulder, possession of marijuana and possession of open alcohol container, all alleged March 7. Burdick set bond at $10,000, 10%, in addition to the $5,000, 10%, posted March 8, after his arrest by a Holt County deputy.

The third warrant was issued by the Honorable Tami K. Schendt, who presided over the case, in Burdick’s stead, via Zoom. According to a probable-cause affidavit filed by the arresting officer, Burdick was witness to the alleged actions of the defendant.

James S. Parker, 28, of Long Pine, also known as James S. Parker Wilson and James S. Wilson Parker, failed to appear for first hearing on four counts alleged Dec. 10, 2022. He is charged with Count I, driving under the influence of alcohol (.15 grams or more), fourth offense, a Class 2A felony; Count II, open container violation, an infraction; Count III, operating motor vehicle during revocation, subsequent offense, a Class 2 misdemeanor; and Count IV, distracted driving (use of handheld wireless device), an infraction. Schendt set bond at $25,000, 10% and revoked bond set at the time of his arrest by a Holt County deputy, in the amount of $15,000, 10%, and posted Dec. 12.
