Nebraska Community Foundation receives a $5,000 grant for the Antelope County 4-H Youth Enrichment Center

Nebraska Community Foundation received a $5,000 grant for the Antelope County 4-H Youth Enrichment Center. The grant is provided through Farm Credit Services of America’s (FCSAmerica) Working Here Fund.

The Working Here Fund grant will be used to help build a new, modern, multi-use facility that can be used year-round for 4-H activities.  The new building will provide space for poultry and rabbits during the Antelope County Fair and the 4-H council and staff will provide year-round programing in the facility.

“The new facility will offer a climate-controlled space for up to 100 rabbits and 300 poultry exhibits at the county fair,” said Anne Meis, committee vice chair. The facility will also offer a space for “clinics and workshops to promote increased 4-H involvement in small animal projects with a goal of increasing youth participation each year for the next 5 years.”

The project is projected to be completed in July 2025.

“Supporting projects that positively impact the communities in which we live and work is one way we can give back to the people we serve and the rural life we value so highly,” said Zach Gansebom, regional vice president of retail operations at FCSAmerica’s O’Neill office.

Nebraska Community Foundation is one of 56 organizations to receive an expanded Working Here Fund grant in the fourth quarter of 2022. FCSAmerica awarded each organization up to $10,000 for a total of $306,250 to support projects focused on agricultural education, hunger and nutrition, young and beginning producers or essential services and rural disaster relief.
