Bobcats finish week with one win, one loss

The Bobcat boys' basketball team finished 1-1 in competition last week.

On Thursday, it came down to the final 1.5 seconds before the Bobcats secured a 46-45 win over Elgin Public/Pope John.

Michael Koenig scored 16 points and grabbed six rebounds.

Sam Cheatum added a dozen points and pulled down nine rebounds.

Summerland traveled to Norfolk, Friday, to face Lutheran High Northeast. The Eagles flew past the local favorites, 56-32.

Alec Schindler led the Bobcats with eight points and eight rebounds.

Koenig added seven points and Preston Hoke blocked one shot in the.

On Friday, Feb. 17, the Bobcats will host Boyd County. Junior varsity action begins at 6 p.m., with a 7:30 tipoff for varsity teams.

Subdistrict play begins Monday, Feb. 20. Brackets are expected to be released Feb. 16 and will be posted on the SAM website and social media channels.
