Clearwater man accused in two sexual assault cases

A second felony sexual assault complaint has been filed by deputy Antelope County Attorney Joe Smith against a Clearwater man.

Michael J. Mueller, 26, of Clearwater appeared in front of the Honorable Donna Taylor in the Neligh courtroom Wednesday, Feb. 1 for a preliminary hearing on first-degree sexual assault, a Class 2 felony alleged Christmas night. An oral motion to continue by Mueller’s attorney, Martin Klein of Neligh, was granted by Taylor.

Mueller also faced the judge for arraignment on another count of first-degree sexual assault, alleged “on or between March 1, 2022, and Dec. 27, 2022.”

Preliminary hearings in both cases are now set Feb. 15. Bond, in amounts of $250,000 and $100,000, posted Jan. 4 and Jan 24, respectively, are continued as well, including conditions for no contact, directly nor indirectly, with any person under 18 years of age.
