Bobcats fall to Falcons, ransack the Vikings

Momentum can lead a team to victory or the agony of defeat.

The Summerland boys' basketball team watched a 31-21 halftime lead evaporate, Tuesday, as Elkhorn Valley held the Bobcats scoreless in the third quarter and silenced the Cats, 54-49.

The Falcons had all the mighty mo' in the third quarter, scoring 18 unanswered points to secure the win on their home court.

Despite the loss, three Bobcats finished in double digits, including Michael Koenig, who led the team with 14; Preston Hoke, 12 and Sam Cheatum, 10.

Summerland avoided a third-quarter surge, Thursday, to secure a 60-49 win over the Wausa Vikings.

The Bobcats controlled the majority of the game, but the Vikings pulled within four points as the fourth quarter began.

Michael Koenig led the Bobcat brigade with 25 points. Alec Schindler added 18.

Defensively, Cheatum pulled down nine rebounds. Schindler added eight.
