Summerland girls sail past Riverside

Mlnarik, Cheatum hit double digits

Summerland's girls basketball team defeated Riverside in an impressive fashion, 56-22, in a Tuesday home, non-conference game.

Coach Greg Appleby said, "Our girls played well in sprinting out to a 47-7 halftime lead.  Our pressure defense created a lot of problems for Riverside and we were able to convert into points."

Two Bobcat players finished in double digits, as Adyson Mlnarik scored 19 points and Hadley Cheatum added a dozen.

Appleby said his squad's schedule gets "more difficult over the next 11 days."

The Bocats are slated to play Niobrara/Verdigre this Friday; Boyd County, Saturday; Stuart, Dec. 13, Humphrey St. Francis, Dec. 15 and O'Neill St. Mary's on Dec. 19.

"We look forward to competing and seeing where we measure up against some of the best in the conference and the state," Appleby said.
