Bobcats face tough competition at Battle Creek duals

Summerland wrestlers finished third in the gold division, Saturday, at the Battle Creek Duals meet.

Lincoln Southwest won the purple championship division, with wins over Battle Creek and Schuyler.

The Bobcats faced a tough Class A opponent in Lincoln Southwest. The Silver Hawks dominated, earning a 73-3 win.

Ethan Kester picked up the lone win for Summerland, with a 6-0 decision over Ryder Kruse in the 126-pound class.

Wrestling in the 120-pound division, Alex Thiele lost, by fall, in 3:54, to Hunter Jacobsen.

Jesse Thiele lost to Kash Bates, by fall, in 1:08. They competed in the 132-pound class.

Logan Kester succumbed to Alex Jochum, 6-5, in a 138-pound match.

In the 145-pound division, the Silver Hawk's Kyan Young pinned Willis Mast in 2:55 and Garret Morgan defeated Keaton Thiele, by fall, in 1:43, in the 160-pound class.

Kendrick Schroeder faced Hudson Miron in a 182-pound match and dropped a 10-1 major decision.

The Silver Hawks also earned wins, by forfeit in the 106, 113, 152, 170, 195, 220 and 285 divisions.

The Bobcats dropped its second dual to Crofton-Bloomfield, 48-28.

Ethan Kester earned his second win on the day with an 8-0 decision over Evan Hollander.

Jesse Thiele pinned Tomik Duffy, in 1:38 and AJ Hobbs won, by fall, over Alex Ramponi, in 2:33, in a 170-pound match.

Robbie Fisher pinned Alex Thiele in 1:03 and Braeden Guenther defeated Logan Kester, by fall, in 1:16.

Willis Mast and Keaton Thiele earned wins by forfeit in their respective weight classes.

C-B picked up points, from wins by forfeit in the 113, 152, 182, 195, 220 and 285 divisions.

In the final preliminary match, the Oakland-Craig downed the Bobcats, 36-30.

Ethan Kester made quick work of Luis Popoca, winning by fall, in :43.

Schroeder pinned Landon Hilliard, in 2:19, in a 182-pound match.

Bobcats receiving wins by forfeit included Alex Thiele, Mast and Keaton Thiele.

Jesse Thiele lost to Ben Loftis, by fall, in 4:58. In a 138-pound match, Connor Thompson was pinned by Oliver Johnson in 1:19. Tristen Coates pinned AJ Hobbs, in 3:11.

O-C picked up forfeit wins in the 195, 220 and 285 divisions.

Tekamah-Herman defeated the Bobcats, 56-23, in the first consolation bracket dual.

Alex Thiele was the lone Bobcat to win a match. He claimed a 17-2 technical fall over Jager Leichleiter.

In a 145-pound match, Shayne Jenkins lost, by fall, in :42, to Austin Breckenridge.

Keaton Thiele lost a 6-2 decision to Alex Braniff. Spencer Pagels pinned Hobbs in 1:08.

Tristan Tobin earned a 16-0 technical fall over Schroeder.

Jesse Thiele, Ethan Kester and Logan Kester won by forfeit.

T-H picked up wins, by forfeit, in the 106, 113, 152, 195, 220 and 285 classes.

In the final dual, the Bobcats lost to O-C, 38-24.

Ethan Kester pinned Popoca in :47.

Other Bobcats earning points, via wins by forfeit, included Alex Thiele, Logan Kester and Keaton Thiele.

O-C's Johnson won a 12-9 decision of Jesse Thiele and in a 170-pound match, Matt Umphress lost a 22-6 technical fall to Tristen Coates.

O-C picked up wins, by forfeit, in the 182, 195 and 220 divisions.
