Bobcats charge past Riverside

Summerland's Michael Koenig chases an errant pass during the Bobcat's clash with Riverside. Summerland tamed the visiting Chargers, 56-36.

A 24-point game from Summerland sophomore Michael Koenig propelled the Bobcats to a 56-36 home win, Tuesday, against Riverside.

Koenig shot 43% from the floor, hit four of nine three-point attempts and added six free throws in the victory.

Summerland led, 13-8, at the end of the first quarter and pressured Riverside during the second, holding the Chargers to four points.

Jaykwon Petite pitched in 16 points, while Sam Cheatum, Alec Schindler and Kellen Mlnarik grabbed five rebounds apiece.
