Cross Country teams compete at Battle Creek

Final yards • Bryce Rudloff sprints toward the finish line during Thursday's Battle Creek cross country invite. Rudloff held off Vincent Headley, of Norfolk Catholic, to finish 20th in the field of 56 runners.

Ten members of Summerland's junior high and high school cross country teams participated in the Battle Creek Invite, Sept. 29.

In the junior high boys' division, Bryce Rudloff led the squad with a 20th-place finish. Zander Cepel ended 24th, Lakin Cleveland, 47th and Jorden Cox, 56th.

Homer claimed the junior high boys' title, earning 18 points.

In the high school boys' division, Alex Thiele finished in 22:01.02, placing 42nd. Jesse thiele ended in 55th, running 23:08.26. Sixty-five runners completed the course.

Bloomfield-Wausa took home the team trophy, with 37 points.
