MINUTES OF SPECIAL MEETING

VILLAGE OF Ewing BOARD OF TRUSTEES

July 22, 2022

The Ewing Village Board of Trustees convened in a special session July 22, 2022, at 8 a.m., in open and public session at the village hall. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss purchase of the Ewing School properties.

Chairman James Ramold called the meeting to order at 8 a.m. Notice was given to the location of the posted open meetings law.

Board members present were Dustin Jorgensen, Kane Fry, Dustin Wright, Bill Graber and James Ramold. Also present were Kent Stallbaum, LuAnn Schindler of Summerland Advocate-Messenger, Don Ruroede, Dan Wettlaufer, Alan Potter and Sharon Swails.

Ramold informed the board that the school board wants the village board to remove the November contingency of the sales tax passing and raise their dollar offer.

Motion by Jorgensen,seconded by Fry, to go into executive session at 8:01 a.m. Voting aye: Fry, Wright, Graber, Jorgensen, Ramold. Nay: none. Abstain: 0. Absent: 0.

Motion by Ramold, seconded by Jorgensen, to come out of executive session at 8:25 a.m. Voting aye: Fry, Wright, Graber, Jorgensen, Ramold. Nay: none. Abstain: 0. Absent: 0.

Motion by Wright, seconded by Fry, to make an offer with a publicly undisclosed dollar amount for all the school properties and contents with no sales tax contingency. Voting aye: Wright and Fry. Nay: Ramold, Graber, Jorgensen. Abstain: 0. Absent: 0. Motion failed.

Motion by Wright, seconded by Jorgensen, to adjourn at 8:30 a.m. Voting aye: Fry, Wright, Graber, Jorgensen, Ramold. Nay: none. Abstain: 0. Absent: 0.
