Wood tops field in bullriding

Fifty contestants took home prize money from the 55th annual Clearwater's Big Rodeo.

Ben Wood scored 83 in bull riding, coveting the top spot in a field of 24 contestants. He earned $721.92.

Dillon Micheel finished second, with a 75. He earned $601.60. Micheel received an additional $1,000 after an eight-second ride during Sunday evening's performance.

Nate Bausch scored 71, finishing third, earning $481.28. Jason Kursave scored 68 and took home $360.96 for his fourth-place finish.

Travis Hoffman finished fifth, with a 62. He took home $240.64.

Mary Dugan ran the pattern in 15.86 to place first in barrel racing. She earned $1,016.80.

Other contestants who placed in barrels include Patty Finney, second, 15.88, $841.49; Dori Hollenbeck, third, 15.96, $666.18; Ashley Odenbach, fourth, 16.0, $490.87; Korrina Hughes and Roseann Ewan, tie for fifth and sixth, 16.05, $245.43.

Hoyt Kraeger led steer wrestlers with a 3.9 time. He received $593.61 for his efforts.

Also placing in the event include Ben Robinson, second, 4.7, $494.68; Lynn Nieveen, third, 5.1, $395.74; Austin Hurlburt, fourth, 5.2, $296.81 and Cord Hesseltine, fifth, 5.5, $197.87.

Two saddle bronc riders earned prize money. Miles Kreeger scored 71 for a first-place finish. He earned $930.60. Jackson Ford finished second. He scored a 68 and earned $620.40.

In breakaway roping, two contestants split prize money after a tie for first place. Blaine Carroll and Makenzie Wilson had runs of 2.5. They received $977.71 each.

A second tie took place in the event for third and fourth place. Jace Hurlburt and Sarah Morrissey received $608.77 after runs of 2.6.

Emily Knust placed fifth, runnng 2.7. She received $332.06. Shawnee Sherwood finished sixth, with a 2.9. Her payout amounted to $184.48.

The team roping title went to Levi Tyan and Reece Weber, who ran 5.4. They took home $1,156.20. Todd Hollenbeck and Cooper Brott finished in 5.8, for second place. They earned $963.50.

Other duos in the money in team roping were Jon Pudwill and Nolan Grint, third, 6.1, $770.80; Brook Jamison and Clayton Symons, fourth, 6.6, $578.10 and Spencer Sinner and Doug Finney, 7.3, $385.40.

Cale Buss landed top honors in 45 calf roping. He finished in 12.4, taking home $718.16. Mark Lovitt placed second, with 13.2, earning $538.62; Carl Fordyce, third, 13.7, $359.08; Cinch Painter, fourth, 17.5, $179.54.

Austin Hurlburt ran 9.1 in tie down roping to place first. He pocketed $680.14. Jarret Oestmann finished second, running 9.8, and received $562.87; Luke Madsen, third, 10.0, $445.61; Tom Crouse, fourth, 10.1, $328.34; Dalen Mcintire, fifth, 10.7, $211.08 and Boe Brown, sixth, 11.6, $117.27.

Whitten Hoover received $502.95 for his first-place performance in bareback. He scored 79.

Others placing in the event include Owen Brouilette, second, 77, $372.87; Ty Kenner, third 77, $372.87; Colt Eck, fourth, 76, $242.80; Grant Worthington, fifth, 75, $156.09 and Tanner Rupprecht, sixth, 74, $86.72.
