Moser receives NRD scholarship

Each year, the Upper Elkhorn Natural Resources District awards three scholarships to graduating high school seniors in the district. These are students who have chosen to pursue a career in a field related to agriculture, natural resources or the environment.

This year’s recipients are Sadie Jarecke of West Holt High School; Cameron Sattler of Stuart High School; Dillon Moser of Summerland Public School; and, alternate Ryan Steinhauser of Stuart High School.

Jeff and Amber Skrdla will be supporting Jarecke as she is planning a career in agriculture education while attending the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Sattler’s parents are Christopher and Jennifer Sattler and he has chosen a career in animal science and plans on attending the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Moser, son of Chris and Sandy, is planning a career in diversified agriculture and is planning to attend Northeast Community College. The alternate for 2022, Steinhauser, with the help of Jacque Borer and Dana Steinhauser, is planning to study agribusiness at Southeast Community College.

Scholarship winners will receive a scholarship in the amount of $500 to help defer costs during their first year of college.

“The Upper Elkhorn NRD would like to congratulate the 2022 senior scholarship winners and wish them good luck in achieving their future goals,” information director Beth Walsh.
