April 11, 2022

The Board of Trustees of the Village of Clearwater met in regular session Monday, April 11, at 8 p.m., in the fire hall meeting room. Meeting opened at 8:03 p.m. Notice of Meeting was given in advance by publication in Summerland Advocate-Messenger and notice was given to board members prior to meeting. Public was informed of location of Open Meeting Act poster.

Present: Kevin Filsinger, Steve Hankla, Cody Kester, Steve Stearns. Others present: Kate Ahlers, Kyle Petersen, LuAnn Schindler, Lauren Sheridan-Simonsen, Sheriff Bob Moore, Marshall Waller, Angie Hupp. Kelly Kerkman arrived at 8:13 p.m.

Approved regular minutes and treasurer’s report for March.

Late water bills presented.

Community awards for 2021 were presented by Lauren Sheridan-Simonsen. Business of the Year was presented to Steve Hankla for Orval’s Auto, Volunteer of the Year presented to LuAnn Schindler and Community Organization of the Year was presented to Cody Kester for Sons of the Legion.

Miller & Associates report presented. Lift station arrived and being installed. Emergency generator will be hardwired and bolted onto concrete by lift station.

Approved program guidelines for NAHTF grant project.

Approved special liquor license for The Waterhole for June 24-25, 2022.

Postponed discussion of food truck on side street by The Waterhole during rodeo.

Approved transfer of $350 from general checking to debit account to purchase electric hand dryers for park bathrooms.

Approved transfer of $1,000 from economic savings to economic checking to cover operating costs.

Approved transfer of $2,000 from general checking to water/sewer checking to rectify clerk deposit mistake.

Approved tabling discussion regarding trash contract, customer rates and Ordinance 2022-6 until executive session with attorney at end of meeting.

Approved advertising for armor coat bids.

Economic development and maintenance reports presented.

Approved hiring Fry Brothers Fertilizer to spray around lagoon.

Library and park reports presented.

Clerk report presented.

Approved including base wage of $21/hr. in maintenance help wanted ads.

New business presented.

Sheriff’s report presented.

Approved going into executive session to discuss potential litigation and Bud’s Sanitary contract at 9:46 p.m.

Approved exiting executive session at 10:20 p.m.

Approved claims and payroll. Claims: $42,445.49; wages: $6,481.34

Meeting adjourned at 10:24 p.m.
