No heat • The Episcopal Church, in Neligh, will need a new furnace, commissioners learned Tuesday.

Antelope County Commissioners learned Tuesday that the furnace in the Episcopal Church, located on the Antelope County Museum Complex, will need a new furnace.

According to Commissioner Carolyn Pedersen, the furnace stopped working toward the end of February. The museum curator contacted Antelope County Historical Society president Boyd Pedersen about how to proceed, “since it’s a county building and it’s going to be around $5,000.”

The air conditioning unit still works, so Pedersen said there is no rush to install a new furnace immediately.

“We need to get the ball rolling somewhere,” she said.

Three bids were submitted to commissioners for review.

A bid of $3,850 was submitted by Flenniken’s. Northeast Nebraska Heating and Cooling turned in a bid for $4,066 and Bryant Home Comfort submitted a $4,086 bid.

Commissioners did not take action during the meeting.

Antelope County Clerk Lisa Payne confirmed, during a Tuesday afternoon phone call with SAM, the item will appear on the April 12 meeting agenda.
