March 24, 2022

Darrion J. Cescolini, 27, of Denver, Colorado, waived his right to a preliminary hearing when he faced the Honorable Donna Taylor in the Antelope County courtroom in Neligh last week. Taylor bound the case over to the Antelope County district court, where Cescolini is set for arraignment March 30, on a Class 1D felony, possession of heroin with intent to deliver, and a Class 4 felony, possession of heroin. Bond, in the amount of $20,000, 10% cash, is continued. Cescolini and a codefendant, Cassandra L. Howell, 28, of Trinidad, Colorado, were arrested Feb. 12 after the vehicle they were passengers in was pulled over by Nebraska State Patrol troopers east of Brunswick on Highway 20. Howell was previously bound over to district court on a felony possession of methamphetamine charge. Cescolini is represented by the Antelope County public defender’s office.

Steven H. Habegger, 18, Antelope County Jail, waived his right to a preliminary hearing and had his case bound over to Antelope County district court, on a Class 3A felony count of child abuse, alleged Feb. 10 at a Neligh motel. Three Class 1 misdemeanors, contributing to delinquency of a child, debauching a minor and cruel mistreatment of an animal, were dismissed, without prejudice, by Antelope County Attorney Joe Abler. Habegger, who is represented by the Antelope County public defender’s office, is set for arraignment in the district court March 30. Habegger requested a reduction in bond. Antelope County Attorney Joe Abler objected. Taylor ordered bond continue as set, $100,000, 10%.
