Summerland speech team competed in the District C2-3 competition at Hartington-Newcastle, March 1. Four speakers earned medals and one will advance to the NSAA State Speech Championships in Kearney. Jacob Behnk qualified for the state contest after earning the silver medal in extemporaneous speaking. Also breaking into the final round were Adrienne Parker, fifth, persuasive speaking; Julie Olivan, sixth in entertainment speaking and Faith King, fifth, informative speaking. Behnk will compete Thursday, March 17, at Kearney High School
