Speechsters earn medals at two invitationals

Summerland speech students competing in meets last week include Yazlin Zermeno, Carlee Livingston, Faith King, Raina Krebs, Julie Olivan, Austin Muff and Jacob Behnk.
Due to illness and other commitments, a small number of Summerland speakers traveled to Burwell, Feb. 11 and Wausa, Feb. 12, to compete in their respective invitationals.
Varsity medal winners at Burwell included Julie Olivan, fourth, and Jacob Behnk, eighth, in entertainment speaking and Carlee Livingston, sixth, in informative speaking.
At Wausa, junior varsity medal winners were Julie Olivan, third, entertainment; Yazlin Zermeno third and Raina Krebs, sixth, in oral interpretation of humorous prose.
