Kester qualifies for first-ever state girl's wrestling tournament

Lenora Kester's name will forever be written on the first page of the first chapter of the Summerland Bobcat girls' wrestling team.

In its inaugural season, six Bobcat girls' wrestlers have honed their skills on the mat and entered district competition, Feb. 4 and 5, competing against schools of all sizes in the Nebraska School Activities Association girls' district two at West Point-Beemer.

The Bobcats finished 11th in the 21-team field, scoring 31 points. Pierce claimed the team title, with 167 points.
