Bobcats win holiday title

Champions • The Bobcats claimed the team title at the Summerland Holiday Tournament, played Dec. 27 and 28. The team defeated CWC, 56-38, in the opening round and held off Tri County Northeast, 48-40, in the final round. Team members include: (front row, l-r): Claire Kester, Harper Klabenes, Jaycee Reynolds, Adyson Mlnarik, Preslie Robertson, Aislynn Kester, Lena Bolling, Jayde Bazelman; (back row, l-r): Coach Jim Schutt, Coach Carrie Kucera, Lydia Robertson, Hadley Cheatum, Emily Nordby, Natalie Stallbum, Emma Kerkman, Emily Ahlers, Olga Mendoza, Emma Funk and Coach Greg Appleby.

Adyson Mlnarik scored 18 points and pulled down nine rebounds, leading Summerland to a 48-40 win over Tri County Northeast, in the Summerland Holiday Tournament championship game.

Summerland jumped to an 11-6 lead at the end of the first quarter, but the second quarter belonged to the visiting team. Tri County scored 20 second-quarter points and limited Summerland to half a dozen.

The Bobcats trailed at the end of the third quarter, 33-29 and played strong defense in the final stanza, outscoring Tri County, 19-7.
