Summerland defeats Neligh-Oakdale, falls in second subdistrict match

Dink • Emma Kerkman sends a dink across the net in a Monday match against Howells-Dodge in Howells. The Bobcat volleyball season ended after a 3-1 loss to the host team during the opening night of subdistrict action.

The Bobcat varsity volleyball team was eliminated from subdistrict play, Monday, after ending the evening with a 1-1 record.

In the opening match, Summerland swept Neligh-Oakdale, 25-10, 25-12 and 25-23.

Lydia Robertson and Hadley Cheatum set the pace, landing 10 kills apiece.

Preslie Robertson served three aces and Ella Bolling added two perfect serves.

The win set up a match with top-seeded Howells-Dodge.

Summerland came out swinging, stunning the Jaguars, 25-21.

The Bobcats lost some of their mojo in the second and third sets, falling 10-25 and 13-25.

In the fourth set, the Bobcats roared back, inching closer each serve, but ultimately could not stop the Jaguars' hitting attack.

Preslie Robertsen nailed seven ace serves.

Ady Mlnarik and Hrper Klabenes finished with10 digs each.
