Summerland cross country runners competed in the D3 district competition, Thursday, Oct. 14, at Ainsworth Municipal Golf Course.

Jesse Thiele finished 26th to lead the boys’ team. He ran 20:13.30. Alex Thiele crossed the finish line in 34th, running 20:40.8. Parker Napier ran 22:57.40, finishing 53rd in the field of 62 runners.

Elkhorn Valley claimed the team title, with 21 points. Ty Schlueter, of Ainsworth, was crowned the individual champion. He ran 16:45.80.

Aubrey Parker finished 20th in the girls’ race. She ran 23:55. Aislynn Kester placed 30th, with a run of 25:50.50. Danielle Schrunk ran 28:28.40, finishing 38th. Forty-three athletes competed in the race.

Ainsworth won the team title, led by Katherine Kerrigan, who ran 20:09.10 to win gold.
