Omaha man sentenced more than two years afte conviction

Jackson L. Anderson Jr., 51, of Omaha faced the Honorable Donna Taylor in the Antelope County courtroom in Neligh, last Wednesday, for sentencing in a 2018 case. He was fined $300 and assessed $52 costs of prosecution for possession of marijuana, less than one ounce, second offense.

Anderson pleaded guilty in December 2018 after reaching a plea deal with county attorney Joe Abler, and an open container count was dropped. He failed to appear for sentencing on three occasions in February and March 2019, and a warrant was issued for his arrest. The warrant was served Sept. 8 this year. He was represented by Antelope County public defender Melissa Figueroa.


Sada L. Carr, 34, of Oakdale appeared before Taylor for sentencing on two second-degree forgery counts. Taylor sentenced her to a six-month term of probation, including $210 in probation fees. She was ordered to pay $10 restitution to Shannon Boyd by Jan. 4, 2022. In addition, joint and several with Donnecia McFarland, she was ordered to pay $500 restitution to Shane Sleister. If it has been paid, proof of payment is ordered. Taylor further ordered the county treasurer to reissue a title to the 2000 GMC Yukon, the vehicle that was subject of the proceedings, to Boyd. Carr was assessed $60 costs of prosecution.

Carr pleaded guilty after reaching a plea deal with Antelope County Attorney Joe Abler. In return for guilty pleas to the Class 1 misdemeanors, Abler agreed to file no further charges (first-degree conspiracy to commit forgery and forgery in the first degree, both Class 3 felonies) related to the incident and to recommend probation. She was represented by court-appointed counsel, Martin Klein of Neligh.

Carr also faced the judge in a second case. She pleaded guilty to driving under suspension, a Class 3 misdemeanor committed Aug. 21. Sentencing is set Nov. 3.

Dominac J. Donahey, 21, of Lincoln faced Taylor for sentencing on a count of third-degree assault, a Class 1 misdemeanor committed June 26 in Clearwater. Taylor sentenced Donahey to a $500 fine, three days in the Antelope County Jail, with credit given for three days previously served; and a12-month term of probation, including $390 in probation program fees. Terms of probation include a written apology to all victims affected, an order to submit to a co-occuring evaluation, completion of 120 days on the continuous alcohol monitoring program, 60 days immediately and the remaining 60 days at the discretion of his probation officer. He was assessed $60 costs of prosecution. Donahey was represented Figueroa.

Aaron D. Biermann, 56, of Wisner pleaded guilty to an amended Class W misdemeanor count, DUI, first offense, committed April 2 on a county road near Brunswick. Taylor fined him $500 and ordered an eight-month term of probation, including $280 in probation program fees, 60 days on the continuous alcohol monitoring program with associated fees, 30 days immediately and the remaining 30 days at the discretion of his probation officer. He was ordered to participate in a minimum of six out-patient treatment sessions. Taylor also revoked his driver’s license for 60 days and assessed $150 costs of prosecution. He will be given credit for up to $185 on fines and costs for out-of-pocket expense incurred for a substance-abuse evaluation. He was represented by Michael Tasset of Oakland.

Jaden R. Bellar, 21, of Elgin pleaded guilty, by waiver, was fined $300 and assessed $49 costs for a Class 3 misdemeanor count, possession of marijuana, less than one ounce. He was cited Aug. 20 by a Neligh police officer.
