Amy M. Jackson, 30, of Norfolk faced the Honorable Kale Burdick, in the Holt County courtroom for arraignment on several complaints.

Jackson pleaded guilty to four of five counts, pursuant to a plea bargain with Holt County attorney Brent Kelly. In return for guilty pleas to counts I, II and III, each assault in the third degree, and Count V, resisting arrest, Kelly dismissed Count IV, felony abuse of a vulnerable adult. Burdick sentenced her to 30 days in the Holt County Jail on each of the four counts, consecutive to each other, with credit for 36 days previously served. She was granted a furlough to continue with aftercare with the Mommy and Me program. If she leaves the program, she was ordered to report to the jail.

Jackson was originally arrested March 24. She was released on a personal recognizance bond April 13, with a condition that she seek treatment. A bench warrant was issued and served April 20, when she failed to appear in court.

When she appeared before Burdick following her arrest on the warrant, it was determined she was under the influence of methamphetamine and the previous PR bond was revoked. Burdick granted a motion for a medical furlough, beginning May 4, for her to begin treatment at a Norfolk facility. She was represented by Holt County public defender Rodney Smith.

Mark A. Meyer, 49, of Lincoln appeared in front of Burdick for a pretrial conference on two Class 1 misdemeanor counts of theft by unlawful taking, $501 - $1,499, committed between Oct. 1, 2020, and Feb. 24, 2021.

Meyer changed his not guilty pleas to no contest, pursuant to plea bargain with Kelly. Meyer was sentenced to 10 days in the Holt County Jail on each count, to be served concurrently, and costs of prosecution totaling $175.44. The judge approved Meyer’s request to sit out costs, consecutively to jail sentences, with commencement deferred to 8 a.m. Sept. 27. Meyer was represented by Smith.

Lindsay R. Welsh, 27, of O’Neill faced Burdick for arraignment on a Class 1 misdemeanor count of driving a vehicle without a court-ordered ignition interlock device. She pleaded guilty to the June 29 offense, pursuant to a plea bargain. In return, Kelly recommended a fine only. Burdick fined her $100 and $50 costs of prosecution. Welsh was represented by Forrest Peetz of O’Neill.

Jahila D. Feaster, 18, of O’Neill appeared for arraignment on four counts, Count I, possession of alcoholic liquor by a minor, a Class 3 misdemeanor; Count II, false reporting, a Class 1 misdemeanor; Count III, littering, a Class 3 misdemeanor; and Count IV, open container violation, an infraction. Pursuant to a plea deal, Feaster pleaded guilty to counts I and IV, while Kelly dismissed counts II and III. Burdick fined Feaster $250

on Count I and $50 on Count IV, along with $50 costs. Feaster was cited June 19 by a Nebraska State Patrol trooper. Feaster was represented by Smith.

Chance E. Engel, 20, of Stuart appeared on charges of MIP and open alcohol container. He waived his right to counsel and pleaded guilty, per a plea agreement, to MIP. In exchange, Kelly dismissed the open container count. Burdick fined him $250 and $50 costs for the July 4 offense. He was cited by a Holt County officer.

Kahnicka L. Hoffman, 21, of O’Neill pleaded guilty in July, by waiver, to a city of O’Neill unlicensed vehicle infraction count. She was fined $25 for the May 15 offense.

James E. Worden, 25, of Ainsworth pleaded guilty, by waiver, and was fined $50 and $49 costs for possession of an open alcohol container July 3 in Stuart.

Austin J. Wenner, 21, of Atkinson pleaded guilty, by waiver, to possession of an open alcohol container July 4, in Stuart.

Samuel J. Karn, 36, of Bloomfield pleaded guilty, by waiver, to a count of driving a commercial vehicle without obtaining a Class A CDL. He was fined $100 and $49 costs. Karn was cited July 20, by a NSP carrier enforcement officer, at the scale near the junction of highways 275 and 20.

Isaac W. Koenig, 18, of Naper pleaded guilty, by waiver, to two counts, Count I, failure to carry a fuel permit, and Count II, a commercial vehicle marking violation. He was fined $100 and $50, respectively, along with $49 costs. Koenig was cited July 29 at the 275/20 scale by a NSP carrier

enforcement officer.

A 16-year-old O’Neill youth pleaded guilty, by waiver, to an infraction count of possession of tobacco, first offense. He was fined $35 and $49 costs. The youth was ticketed July 3, when a vape pen was found in his pocket by an O’Neill police officer.
