A bullrider hangs on during a ride at this year's Clearwater rodeo. Organizers are planning another evening, featuring rough stock entertainment, July 31, at the Gene Snodgrass Arena.

The Clearwater Chamber of Commerce will add a second event to its traditional rodeo lineup in 2021.

On July 31, bareback, saddle bronc and bull riders from the mid-states region and beyond will vie for added prize money in the first Clearwater Chamber Rough Stock Challenge.

Competition will begin at 7:30 p.m., in the Gene Snodgrass Arena.

Justin Boots, with Rocking Plus Rodeo Company, will provide stock for the challenge.

An additional $1,500 added prize money will sweeten the pot in each event.

Individuals wanting to battle a bull will be able to sign up for a round of "Mexican poker" following the final bull ride of the night.

Admission for the evening show will be $10 and tickets may be purchased at the gate.

The ticket price includes a dance at the rodeo grounds following the competition.

Curt Thiele, chamber president, said, "You can't go wrong with Whiskey Tango Foxtrot. We hope all can make it."

Whiskey Tango Foxtrot, based in northeast Nebraska, features area musicians Dave Amick and Cory Delp.
