Inaugural golf tournament draws 15 teams

For a good cause • The first Summerland Booster Club golf tournament, held May 29, brought in $1,200 for the Bobcat golf team. Approximately 15 teams competed in the event organized by Aaron Kruger, Craig Flenniken and Bruce Flenniken.

Fifteen teams raised approximately $1,200 for the Summerland Bobcat golf team during the first Summerland Booster Club Tournament.

The May 29 event featured a nine-hole tournament, with four individuals competing per team.

Winners of the championship flight were Aaron Kruger, Echo Thiele, Kyle Finke and Garret Finke.

Second-place honors went to Brock Kaczor's squad and third-place finishers were the Blake Cunningham team, which also included Katie Cunningham and Tad and Laura Fry.

Mike Tagel's squad topped the first flight, while Kamen Rotherham's team finished second and Jason Thramer's quad placed third.


Individuals had an opportunity to enter a raffle for a putter and wedge. Travis Jackson won a new putter and Rotherm took home a new wedge.

Sponsors of the tournament were Aaron Kruger Construction, Clearwater; Summerland Golf Course; Bank of Orchard; Great Plains State Bank of Petersburg, The Waterhole; Anson Electric, Inc .; Equitable Advisors, of Omaha; Summerland Advocate-Messenger and Gadeken Seed, of Neligh.

The 2022 event will be held May 28.
