Summerland claims first-ever junior high golf win

Summerland junior high golf team members claimed first place in the first-ever junior high golf meet, Friday, at the Summerland Golf Course.

According to Coach Kris Tabbert, golfers played from the junior tees in 50-degree weather with 20 miles per hour winds.

Boyd County finished second, shooting 214 and North Central did not field a full team.

Dylan Rotherham tied for first with Kol Otten, of North Central, shooting 43. Otten won the playoff for the gold medal.

Cash Wickersham finished with 45, for third place; Coy Wickersham shot 50, to finish fourth.

Jenna Funk carded a 51, tying BC’s Cash Sinclair for fifth.

Other Bobcat golfers included Jayden Hobbs, who finished with 59 and Branden Pruden shot a 66.

In addition to Sinclair, other golfers for Boyd County included Madalyn Reiser, 53; River Hanson, 55; Ben Tiefenthaler, 55 and Evan Brewer, 74.

Corbin Gillis, of North Central, finished with 55, while Tad Morrow shot a 69.
