Stephanie Meuret, of Brunswick, will fill a vacancy on the Antelope County Visitors Committee. The appointment was confirmed during the April 6 Antelope County Commissioners meeting, in Neligh.

Stephanie Meuret, of Brunswick, will fill a vacated position on the Antelope County Visitors Committee.

County commissioners approved the appointment, Tuesday, during a regular meeting, at the Antelope County Courthouse in Neligh.

Meuret will fill a four-year term.

Commissioner Carolyn Pedersen said the seat became open following the resignation of Holly Meuret of Brunswick.

"That's why Stephanie was appointed," Pedersen said.

Commissioners also approved two improvement grants and one promotional grant.

The Antelope County Historical Society requested $1,500 for updates to the museum's Native American display.

Royal Roping Club will receive $1,750 for new lighting of its arena.

A promotional grant totaling $350 was approved for the Antelope County Museum and Historical Society. Funds will be used to promote the Night at the Museum.

Commissioner Dean Smith asked if a limit exists on improvement grants.

Pedersen said commissioners approved upping the amount to $1,750 earlier this year.

Smith said with more entities requesting funds, commissioners need to stay updated on funds in the account.

"With more and more coming all the time, I would like to see a monthly update," he said.

Antelope County Clerk Lisa Payne said the item is listed on the funding report each month.
