The Page Community Day Committee hosted a cookoff, Sunday. Ten competitors turned up the heat, entering soups ranging from chicken noodle to chili, zuppa toscana to chipotle sweet potato chili, cheeseburger to black bean soup.

Even a pan - of the plastic variety - featured turtle soup, although most guests passed on the cuisine, preferring to watch the creatures swim in a dishpan.

Organizer Joni Isom said individuals from Page, Bartlett, O'Neill and Clearwater participated in the event.
