Summerland speech team members competed in two meets recently and several students brought home hardware.

At the Feb. 13 Wausa Invite, Emma Hoffman finished fourth in junior varsity extemporaneous speaking.

Julie Olivan received the sixth-place medal in oral interpretation of serious prose.

Coach Julie Harley said no varsity participants received medals at the meet.

On Feb. 20, the team traveled to Ainsworth and seven speakers received medals.

Summerland finished fifth in team standings.

In varsity competition, Emily Nordby and Kyra Nilson earned a bronze medal in duet acting.
