Cronk wins FFA livestock judging junior division

Eight students earn medals

Levi Cronk won the junior division livestock judging title at the FFA District IV event, Feb. 4, in Norfolk

Members from the Summerland FFA chapter competed at the District IV Livestock Judging Contest, Thursday, Feb. 4, at Northeast Community College.

Of the 15 members who competed, eight students came away earning ribbons, with sophomore member Levi Cronk leading the pack, with a first-place overall finish in the junior division. Also earning ribbons in the junior division were Trevor Thomson and Jesse Thiele. Both received reds.


Approximately 120 contestants competed in this division.

In the senior division, ribbon earners included Cassidy Bearinger with a blue and Kaci Wickersham, Dillon Moser, Taelyn Swtizer and Morgan Erhardt with reds. In this division, 102 contestants competed.

The junior team earned eighth place and a blue ribbon out of 17 teams. The senior team finished in ninth place and earned a red ribbon, also out of 17 teams.

Also competing for the Summerland FFA chapter were Madison Melcher, Kylie Hewett, Kelton Bruhn, Ashley Melcher, Cody Wickersham and Jaykwon Petite.
