Roll out • (l-r): Colton Thiele and Jaykwon Petite set the block for Trevor Thomson during the Bobcats 62-28 win over Ainsworth, Friday. Thomson earned 320 yards rushing in the game and finishes the season with 1, 226 yards.

Bobcat running phenom Trevor Thomson needed 94 rushing yards to join the 1,000-yard club before the Bobcats game at Ainsworth.

Thomson reached that mark - and then some - as he rushed for 320 yards on 36 carries in Summerland's 62-28 win, Friday.

The Bobcat coaching staff made a few changes on the field, including setting up Jaykwon Petite under center and shifting Ty Rix to quarterback.

The move made a difference as Petite tossed a 44-yard catch to Rix for the first score on the game.

Thomson added the PAT to put the 'Cats up 8-0.

Ainsworth responded when Caleb Allen ran in from three yards out, and after missing the PAT, trailed, 6-8.

Thomson couldn't be contained, as he jetted 67 yards for six points. Petite ran in the PAT, giving the Bobcats a 16-6 lead at the end of the first quarter.

The second quarter produced more back-and-forth scoring, with Ainsworth's Allen connecting with Cash Reynolds on a 43-yard pass. The PAT failed.

Summerland scored on its next two possessions, with Thomson adding a 13-yard touchdown and PAT, and Petite stepped across the line from a yard out.

Allen found another target in Carter Nelson, sending a 22-yard pass to him in the end zone. Allen hit Traegan McNally for a successful conversion.

Before the end of the half, Colton Thiele ran it in from one yard out, giving Summerland a 36-20 advantage.

Ainsworth scored the lone points of the third quarter, when Allen found an opening and ran 65 yards for six points.

Summerland dominated the final quarter, scoring on four possessions.

Trevor Thomson ended with touchdown runs of 35 and 50 yards. Rafe Grebin ran in one PAT.

Petite sent a smooth pass to Rix for a 17-yard touchdown, and Kendrick Schroeder bolted 65 yards for the final score.

Ainsworth's only points in the final quarter came when Caden Swanson tackled Summerland in the end zone for a safety.
