Neither an 84-degree temperature at race time nor road construction could slow Bobcat cross country runners.

Three team members - Ellie Dougherty, Danielle Schrunk and David Arroyo - competed in the Burwell Invite, Aug. 26.

Originally scheduled to begin at 4 p.m., organizers bumped the start time to the morning, due to extreme heat.

Arroyo edged out a competitor to bring home the 15th place medal in the boys’ division.

Race times were not available for Schrunk or Dougherty.

The team will compete in Beemer, Thursday, Sept. 3, at 5:30 p.m....
