Ewing graduates toss their graduation caps toward the sky. The school held commencement exercises, July 26. The class of 2020 is the last class to receive a Ewing Public Schools diploma, as they join Clearwater and Orchard to form the Summerland district.

The class of 2020 has left the building.

With diplomas in hand, the last class to graduate as Ewing Tigers spent Sunday afternoon together, surrounded by family and school personnel, during a 2 p.m. graduation ceremony.

Principal Greg Appleby welcomed guests and reported while the class faced adversity during the final quarter of school, its legacy will be the accomplishments the graduates made throughout their high school careers.

"These young kids - young adults, actually - are tough, they are resilient and they will overcome the loss of many special memories," Appleby said. "I believe this class is a great group to represent the final graduating class of Ewing High School...they're talented, tough, dedicated and loyal."

Katie Hawk, daughter of Theresa and Mike Hawk, received the valedictorian's award. Ashley Koenig, daughter of Kevin and Gina Koenig, was named salutatorian.

Both shared special memories of time spent in the Ewing school system and thanked everyone who played a part.

Students receiving diplomas were Elizabeth Burival, Mackenzie Cunningham, Skylar Eacker, Hawk, Xavier Hobbs, Joseph Hoffman, Emma Hollenback, Koenig, Emily Kurpgeweit, Connor Napier, Gage Nilson, Elizabeth Nordby, Madison Potter, Summer Schroeder, Sidney Stallbaum, Tiana Thramer and Wyatt Wagner.

Eighth-grade students were recognized. Caige Anson, Ellie Dougherty, Jasmine Higgs, Garrett Napier and Barret Stearns received a diploma, advancing to high school.
