More COVID-19 cases reported in NCDHD region

 

North Central District Health Department said Sunday, it had been made aware of a positive COVID-19 case in Antelope County.

NCDHD is in the process of contacting the individual using various means.

At this time, the risk of exposure to the public is unknown.

On Saturday, NCDHD was made aware of a positive case in Knox County. The resident contracted the illness through direct contact with a positive individual.

The individual is in quarantine and all close contacts have been identified and are in quarantine.

Through investigation, it has been determined there is low risk to the communities in Knox County.

The count of positive cases in NCDHD counties, through Sunday, is:

• Antelope - 7

• Boyd - 0

• Brown - 0

• Cherry - 1

• Holt - 1

• Keya Paha - 0

• Knox - 7

• Pierce - 1

• Rock - 0

Total for NCDHD district: 17

NCDHD wants to remind residents in the region to remain cautious, be aware of surroundings and practice social distancing as there are positive COVID-19 cases in adjoining counties and outbreaks in neighboring districts.

NCDHD encourages individuals to protect themselves by continuing to cover coughs with a tissue and throw it away or coughing into a bent elbow; wash hands with soap and water frequently and practice social distancing by staying home. Individuals who need to go out should remain six feet from others and wear a mask.
