AMH Health Fair Scheduled for February

Health checkup • On Saturday, Feb. 29, Antelope Memorial Hospital is sponsoring a health fair. Members of AMH's cardiac rehab team, including, (l-r): Michelle Stearns, RN; Molly Navratil, RN; Laura Ruge, RN and Shannon Tegeler, RN and director, will be on-site to provide glucose checks and provide information about cardiac rehab, diabetes education, farm safety and weight loss. Antelope Memorial Hospital will sponsor a health fair, Saturday, Feb. 29, from 7:30 to 11 a.m., at Neligh's American Legion.
Discounted lab specials offered include: PSAs for men, $25; hemoglobin A1C, $15 and CBC, TSH, chemistry and lipid panels, $40.
Individuals having blood drawn are asked to fast for 12 hours prior to testing.
The following AMH stations will also be on-site: cardiac rehab, diabetes education offering on-site glucose and blood pressure checks, farm safety, weight loss, respiratory therapy, sleep studies, home health, patient portal - YourCareCommunity.com, wellness, physical therapy, ambulance, surgery, public relations and dietary, offering apples and healthy snack ideas.
Free giveaways and drawings will also be held.
Representatives on-site from local health-related businesses will include: Neligh Family Dentistry, Bright Horizons, Susie's Foot Care, Weight Watchers, Insurance 365, Arbor Care Center, Neligh/Elgin senior centers and Antelope County Extension Office. The LifeNet helicopter will also be available for viewing in-person after 9 a.m., weather and schedule permitting.
As a special attraction, Bryan Health's mobile cardiovascular screenings will be offered Friday, Feb. 28, from 5 to 7 p.m., and Saturday, Feb. 29, from 7:30 to 11:30 a.m.
Atrial fibrillation screenings will be available for anyone for $10. For those older than age 64 or age 54 with risk factors or family history, the following screenings are also available: peripheral arterial disease, $20; abdominal aortic, a four-hour fast is required, $40; and carotid artery, $40.
