Renegades, Cyclones named to all-district squad

Two Cyclone football players and 11 Renegade gridiron grinders received all-district honors for D2-5.
Wyatt Wagner, a CWCE senior, and Eli Macke, a senior for OC, were named first-team running backs, along with Colby Coons, of Twin Loup.
Logan Sanford and Fran Ferran, CWCE juniors, landed on the first-team list for the offensive line and kicker, respectively.
Other players named to the top offensive unit include Ty Nekoliczak, junior, Central Valley, quarterback; Raif Ruppert, senior, Twin Loup and Isaiah Wiese, junior, St. Mary's, offensive line; Morgan Behnk, a Central Valley junior, and Twin Loup's Bryce Lamb, a senior, ends; Jackson McIntyre, junior, Central Valley, athlete and Coons, punter.
Cole Duba, sophomore quarterback for the Renegades and senior Samuel Jesse, an end, were named to the second offensive unit. They are joined by Enrique Martinez, senior, Central Valley and Grant Pease, senior, Stuart, running backs; Thomas Bonge, junior, Central Valley; Connor Semin, junior, St. Mary's and Shawn Quandt, junior, Twin Loup, offensive line and Cage Landers, senior, Central Valley, end.
On defense, Joshua Klabenes and Trevor Stamp, CWCE seniors and Jackson Waldo, a sophomore for CWCE, landed on the first team. Klabenes and Stamp were recognized for defensive line play, while Waldo led kick returners.
Other players on the first-team defense include Trevor Cargill, junior, and Rope Bottorf, senior, Central Valley, defensive line; Damyn Rother, senior, Central Valley, Quade Young, junior, Twin Loup and Grant Winkelbauer, junior, St. Mary's, linebackers; Cooper Coons, a Twin Loup senior, and Wade Paxton, junior, from Stuart, were recognized as defensive backs.

Eli Macke landed on the all-district first squad offensive team, representing the OC Cyclones.
Rex Day was honored as a linebacker on the second team, along with Tate Thompson, sophomore, St. Mary's and Kordaynian Thorin, senior, Central Valley.
Second-team defensive line honors were given to Colton Thiele, sophomore, OC; Adam Everitt, sophomore, St. Mary's and Kyle Oakley, sophomore, Central Valley. Lathyn Collins, senior, Twin Loup and Aidan Hedstrom. sophomore, St. Mary's were recognized as second team defensive backs.
Dalton Rotherham, junior, and Joe Hoffman, senior, CWCE received honorable mention.
Other honorable mentions include Cameron Kelly, senior, Central Valley; Weston Reineke, junior, Twin Loup; Gabe Pribil, sophomore, St. Mary's and Ryan Steinhauser, sophomore, Tyler Steinhauser, senior and Cameron Sattler, junior, Stuart.
