Michelle Coston, 35, of Hastings appeared before the Honorable Mark Kozisek in the Holt County district courtroom in O'Neill on Nov. 4, where she was sentenced to 330 days in jail on a count of possession of methamphetamine, a Class 4 felony committed in January 2018. She was given credit for 179 days previously served. With good time, the defendant was subject to immediate release, according to Kozisek. She was ordered to pay $147 court costs as well as a $100 fine for an infraction, possession of drug paraphernalia.

Coston was convicted Feb. 12, 2018, with sentencing deferred to allow participation in the North Central Problem Solving Court program.

She was subsequently adjudged guilty of a drug court violation and ordered to complete community service in April 2018 and served jail sanctions for violations on three occasions, in August 2018 and March and April this year. She failed to appear for a drug court hearing July 22, 2019. Bond was revoked and a bench warrant was issued Aug. 12, with bond set at $5,000, 10% cash. The warrant was served Aug. 17 and Coston withdrew from drug court Sept. 9.
