Rib fest, vendor fair planned in Orchard

Orchard Economic Development Association, along with Orchard Young Men's Club, will sponsor the village's annual rib fest and vendor fair, Saturday, Sept. 14.
The vendor fair will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., on Windom Street. Lunch will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., and include Creighton Locker dogs, chips, dessert, bar or cookie and a drink for $5.
Entrants for rib fest will begin cooking at 9 a.m. and continue until 5 p.m. Judging will occur from 5:15 to 6 p.m.
The public is invited to the rib meal at 6. Cost is $15 for 11 years and older; $7 for six to 10-year-olds; and five and under will eat free.
A minimum $1,000 cash payout will be split between first, second and third places.
