Page man receives probation

 


A 27-year-old Page man appeared in Holt County District Court, July 15 for numerous counts in four separate cases.

District Judge Mark Kozisek sentenced Chad W. Rokahr to a total of four years probation for all charges. He was given credit for 29 days served in Holt County Jail.

In the first case, the defendant was charged with no operator’s license and driving without headlights, both Class 3 misdemeanors; possession of less than one ounce of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia, both infractions.

In the second case, Rokahr was charged with burglary, a Class 2A felony.

In the third case, the defendant was charged with operating a motor vehicle to avoid arrest and possession of a controlled substance, both Class 4 felonies; and possession of less than one ounce of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia, both infractions.

In the fourth case, Rokahr was charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver and burglary, both Class 2A felonies, and theft by unlawful taking, a Class 2 misdemeanor.

According to court documents Rokahr was arrested Nov. 4, 2018.

Holt County Sheriff’s Office Investigstor Steven Binkerd responded to a call placed around 2:15 a.m., from a homeowner near 489th Avenue and 870th Road reporting a suspicious vehicle near their residence.

Binkerd requested the assistance of the O’Neill Police Department to patrol the area.

OPD Sgt. Jensen met a red Chevy Monte Carlo as it crossed the highway at a high rate of speed and ran the stop sign at 870th Road and Highway 281.

The driver, later identified as Rokahr, led the law enforcement on a high speed chase with speeds reaching 85 mph.
