The Lady Bobcat track team earned multiple medals at the North Central Sandhills Invite.

The team traveled to Bassett for the meet, April 3.

Summerland finished second in team standings, with 73 points.

West Holt claimed the top spot, accumulating 154.5 points; Burke, South Dakota, finished third, with 62 points, followed by Ainsworth, 61 and North Central, 49.

Hadley Cheatum was named outstanding female athlete at the conclusion of the meet.

The University of South Dakota track commit earned medals in four events, earning two gold and two silver medals.

Five athletes competed in the 100m race. Caydence Schumacher placed 16th, running 14.90. Jaycee Reynolds finished 22nd, in 15.21; Preslie Robertson, 24th, 15.44; Yazlin Zermeno, 27th, 15.71; Ava Rittscher, 34th, 17.26 and Kenna Brabec, 19.03.

In the 200m, Ella Bolling ran 33.43, to finish 24th. Zermeno was on her heels, finishing 25th, in 33.66.

Cheatum won the 400m, running 1:02.68.

In the 800m, she claimed a second gold medal, running 2:34.81. Shaylie Kester placed 14th. She completed the race in 3:32.37.

Karley Dawkins competed in the 1600m. She placed 11th, running 7:12.

Cheatum ended in second place in the 100m hurdles. After running 17.15 in preliminaries, she shaved off time in the final race, running 16.71.

Preslie Robertson ran 18.3 in preliminaries, qualifying for the final, where she placed seventh. She ran 19.48 in the last race.

Lenora Kester ended 13th in the event, with a time of 19.48.

Three Bobcats competed in the 300m hurdles. Cheatum finished second, running 52.23 and Kester ended 11th, in 56.26. Lydia Robertson crossed the tape in 15th place, with a time of 58.26.

Reynolds, Lydia Robertson, Bolling and Schumacher combined their talents for the 4x100. The quartet placed seventh, running 58.57.

In the 4x800 race, Dawkins, Lenora Kester, Ellie Dougherty and Shaylie Kester finished in third place, with a time of 12:48.13.

Raina Krebs finished second in shot put. She threw 34' 3.5. Ady Mlnarik placed 13th, with a throw of 29' 9.75, while Kenzie Sanne landed at 24' 5.25 for a 25th-place finish.

In discus, Krebs placed 14th, throwing 73' 4. Emma Petersson ended in 16th, with a toss of 71' 11. Mlnarik threw 52' 4, finishing 26th and Sanne landed in 28th, with a toss of 49 feet.

Bailey Ahlers topped the high jump class, clearing 5' 2. Lydia Robertson tied for fourth place, gliding over the 4' 10 bar. Schumacher finished eighth after clearing 4' 6. Ashley Pischel ended in 11th, with a jump of 4' 4.

In long jump, Bolling finished eighth, jumping 12' 10. Dougherty ended in 17th, landing at 11' 8.5, while Brabec placed 22nd, with a leap of 7' 8.
