Summerland Public School hosted the Niobrara Valley Conference speech tournament, Wednesday, Feb. 15.

The Bobcat "speechsters" placed sixth as a team behind Pope John, Stuart, West Holt, Elgin and St. Mary's.

Medal winners from Summerland included:

Olga Mendoza, third, serious prose interpretation and poetry interpretation;

Yuliana Olivan, third, entertainment speaking;

Faith King, fourth, poetry;

Adrienne Parker, sixth, persuasive; and

Talya Nilson and Irelyn Bearinger, sixth, duet acting.
